While there are hundreds of YouTube videos promising "secret APN settings for 100 Mbps speed", the truth is that BSNL only officially supports one main APN. Changing it to weird names will actually break your internet.
How to Add the Correct APN:
Go to your phone Settings > Mobile Networks > BSNL SIM > Access Point Names. Click on 'Add' or the '+' icon and type exactly this:
- Name: BSNL Net
- APN: bsnlnet
- Proxy: Not Set
- Port: Not Set
- Username: Not Set
- Server: Not Set
- APN Type: default
- APN Protocol: IPv4
Leave everything else exactly as it is (Not Set). Save this profile by clicking the checkmark at the top, select it, and then restart your phone.
THE AUTOMATIC SMS TRICK (EASIEST METHOD)
If you don't want to type all of that out manually, BSNL has an automated system that will send the settings directly to your phone.
Open your SMS messaging app and send the word GPRS to the number 53733. Within a few seconds, you will receive a configuration message from BSNL. Open the message and click "Save" or "Install". It will automatically set up the `bsnlnet` APN for you.
WHY FORCING "4G ONLY" IS A BAD IDEA
Many gamers try to lock their phone to "LTE Only" (4G only) to get better speed. While this works well for Jio and Airtel, doing this on BSNL right now is a bad idea.
BSNL is still rapidly building its 4G network across India. If you lock your phone to 4G and you travel to a neighborhood where the 4G tower is not fully active yet, your internet will completely shut off.
